Tokyo Electron Wins Porter Prize 2022

Tokyo Electron (TEL) announced that it has won the Porter Prize 2022, an award given by Hitotsubashi University's Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS) to recognize Japanese corporations and enterprises implementing unique and outstanding strategies.

About the Porter Prize

The Porter Prize was established in July 2001 to bestow recognition on companies that have achieved and maintained superior profitability in a particular industry by implementing unique strategies based on innovations in products, processes, and ways of managing. The name of the award is derived from Professor Michael E. Porter of Harvard University.

Reasons for recognition

We were recognized for providing equipment and services that satisfy our customers’ needs. The following comments from the organizer also show other reasons why we won this award: “TEL organically manages its development, manufacturing, and service operations and places a strategic focus on the four consecutive process of front-end semiconductor manufacturing, which gives the company products with strong competitive advantage.” “TEL has developed a unique strength through an industrial cluster characterized by co-development with Japanese suppliers and a short supply chain, and is using this strength for the benefit of overseas customers as well.”

We are honored and encouraged to be awarded this prestigious prize. Upholding our vision of becoming “a company filled with dreams and vitality that contributes to technological innovation in semiconductors,” we will continue creating leading-edge high value-added equipment and technical services, aiming for medium- to long-term profit expansion and continuous corporate value enhancement.
