TOKYO ELECTRON LIMITED

Response to the New Coronavirus Outbreak

Regarding the new coronavirus outbreak that originated in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, first, we would like to express our sincerest hope that all virus-infected pneumonia patients will recover soon.

In early January, Tokyo Electron (TEL) began setting up travel restrictions step by step. On January 27, TEL organized the Emergency Task Force at its headquarters, with TEL Representative Director, President & CEO Toshiki Kawai, taking the helm to combat the situation on an ongoing basis. The principal measures that have been adopted by the TEL Group are as follows:

Corporate policy regarding travel to Hubei Province and elsewhere in China
・TEL employees are not to go on business travel to Wuhan, Hubei Province.
・In principle, TEL Employees may not travel to any other areas in China, either, during the said period.
・Local subsidiaries will operate business in China as usual.

State of logistics and supply chain at TEL
Although some shipping delays may occur due to traffic restrictions and the Chinese New Year extension, the shipment schedule for our equipment and components has not yet been significantly affected. We will keep monitor their situation for any new developments.

We will keep you updated on TEL Group’s response if there are any significant changes in the state of affairs.
