Announcement on Organization Changes and Personnel Changes

Tokyo Electron (TEL) announces the following changes in organization and personnel.

1. Changes in Organization effective on April 1st, 2024

Corporate Strategy / Global Business Platform Division
As per the semiconductor industry as well as our business growth potential, “offense x offense governance, especially, forward looking / back-casting governance and risk management become further imperative for our sustainable growth. We will initiate the following organizational changes in strategy function under CEO as well as global business platform division.

(1) Risk Management
Amid increasing importance of semiconductor via evolving digital economy/society, our corporate value is expected to grow further. In the meantime, we will need more expedited operations to proactively deal with various risks such as geopolitical complication and uncertain market/economy; will transition risk management planning and promotion function from Risk Management Department to Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO) under strategy function. As a result of this change, will re-brand CPMO to “Corporate Project & Risk Management Office” while transitioning BCP function which is being operated at Risk Management Department to General Affairs Department.

(2) Legal & Compliance
We will establish Corporate Governance Department to enhance good governance. Also, we will assign Deputy Legal & Compliance Unit GM to lead global group governance and legal advice to various projects and transactions.

(3) Sales logistics & trade control
We will establish Trade Control Department to ensure trade compliance while renaming Export Logistics Control Department to Sales Logistics Control Department.

Account Sales Division
We will establish Account Strategy Planning Department under Account Sales Division. To promote strong next generation products, we will enhance product marketing capability and initiatives.
