DJSI Asia Pacific

The DJSI indices are collaboratively maintained by the American-based S&P Dow Jones Indices* and RobecoSAM, a Swiss-based firm specializing in ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) research. The DJSI evaluates the sustainability performance of the world's leading companies using economic, environmental, and social criteria. Tokyo Electron (TEL) was selected for inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index (DJSI Asia Pacific) for the second straight year.

FTSE4Good Global Index

The Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) in the U.K. selects companies around the world according to their environmental and corporate social responsibility record, and is a representative index for ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). TEL has continued to be included in the FTSE4 Good Global Index since 2003.

FTSE Blossom Japan Index

“FTSE Blossom Japan Index”is designed as an industry neutral benchmark that reflects the performance of companies demonstrating strong ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) practices in Japan. FTSE Russell evaluations are based on performance in areas such as Corporate Governance, Health & Safety, Anti-Corruption and Climate Change. Businesses included in the “FTSE Blossom Japan Index” meet a variety of environmental, social and governance criteria.

MSCI World ESG Leaders Index

MSCI World ESG Leaders Index is a member of the MSCI Global Sustainability Index series which were developed by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) and are globally recognized indices for ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance).

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index

MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index” targets 50% of the free float-adjusted market capitalization of each Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS®*) Sector and is designed to target companies that have high ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) performance.
“MSCI Japan ESG Select Leaders Index” aims to target sector weights that reflect their relative weightings within the underlying indexes, to limit the systematic risk introduced by the ESG selection process. Overall, the index targets coverage of 50% of the underlying MSCI parent index.

STOXX Global ESG Leaders indices

The STOXX Global ESG Leaders indices are a set of indices maintained by STOXX (a subsidiary of Deutsche Börse Group), a leading index provider in Europe.

Channel News Asia Sustainability Ranking

TEL was chosen as one of Asia's Top 100 companies in the 2016 Channel NewsAsia Sustainability Ranking, which identifies and honors Asia's leading sustainable companies from ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) viewpoints. The ranking is determined jointly by Channel NewsAsia (a Singapore-based TV news channel), CSR Asia (a CSR consulting firm), and Sustainalytics (a major ESG rating agency).
