The 22nd annual Dragon Boat Race was hosted at Festival Beach on Lady Bird Lake on April 29, 2023, in Austin, TX. The Dragon Boat Festival, which falls on the 5th day of the 5th month on the Lunar Calendar, has a background rich in cultural history.
Led by Nicole Santa-Ana and Omar Madrigal, the Tokyo Electron (TEL) team trained diligently for over a month to compete head-to-head against other corporate teams. From 9:00am until 4:00pm, the team completed three races. At the end of the races, the TEL team, for the first time ever, was crowned victor of the 22nd annual Dragon Boat Race!
This was a free family friendly event with activities that included: dragon boat racing, music, material arts performances taiko drum, lion dance and a kid’s zone.
