NEWTokyo Electron Visits Texas State University's Engineering Senior Design Day!
U.S.

On May 2, 2023, Texas State University hosted Senior Design Day, an event highlighting senior engineering students' projects. These projects are yearlong collaborations between the students and industry and academic sponsors through their senior design capstone program. Students participate in the team-based design of a system or component that incorporates appropriate engineering standards, multiple constraints and is based upon knowledge and skills acquired in earlier course work. Four different disciplines: industrial engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering and civil engineering are on display between the 1st and 2nd semester senior design program students.
Tokyo Electron (TEL) was excited to join the day with an informational booth! Throughout the event, TEL taught students about TEL, showed them how we fit into the vital world of semiconductors and grew interest in future opportunities. The outreach team consisted of Sr. Talent Advisor Steve Johnson, Research Science Mgr. Ihsan Simms, and two Texas State Industrial Engineering alumni now working as TEL Materials Planners, Holly and Kayla Streber. We all thoroughly enjoyed representing TEL and educating others about who TEL is and everything the company has to offer!
TEL’s own sponsored senior design team won the Industry Choice Award for best in industrial engineering. Holly and Kayla Streber, along with Wayne Parent, Ed McMurray and James Mulhall helped sponsor this project that worked to build a dynamic forecasting tool for projecting spare parts demand. The team consisted of Oleksandr Liebiediev, Sebastian Sanchez, Dylan Moya and Keenin Potter!
