As a donation partner, Tokyo Electron Kyushu (TKL) supports the local contribution activities of the Kumamoto Volters, a basketball team in the second division (B2) of the B.LEAGUE.
About Donation Partners
With the extracurricular activities in elementary and junior high schools being discontinued in recent years, basketball has become less active, and balls and equipment are aging.
Kumamoto Volters knew about this situation and wanted to improve it so that children could enjoy sports, and contribute to the maintenance and improvement of children’s basic physical strength. The team therefore started activities to donate items related to balls and basketball to school children in collaboration with companies in Kumamoto Prefecture.
This fiscal year, TKL donated a total of 100 basketballs (five per school) to all elementary schools, including schools for special needs education, in Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City.
TKL will continue its efforts to donate basketballs to local schools.
