NEWTree-Planting Activity “TEK Happy Forest Trail Creation”

Korea

  • Conserving the global environment
  • Co-creation with communities

As part of its decarbonization and global environmental conservation efforts, Tokyo Electron Korea (TEK) planted 2,000 trees along the Giheung Lake Trail near its Hwaseong Office, covering a total area of 417㎡ and measuring approximately 100m in length, in order to build forests as well as improve air quality and protect the local environment.

The 50 employees who participated in the activity as volunteers learned about the importance and relevance of climate change and tree planting, and were encouraged to act in consideration of environmental protection and conservation in their daily lives.

Employees who participated in the tree planting activity made comments such as, “I'm glad I was able to participate in meaningful activities with employees from other departments. I'd like to participate in the next TEL FOR GOOD (TFG) activity.”

This TFG activity is an initiative to achieve the medium- to long-term environmental goal of “net zero” by 2050, which is TEL’s mission and responsibility toward decarbonization. Even if it is not a special annual event such as Singmogil Day (Greenery Day) or Earth Day, we would like to plan various TFG activities that can make employees interested in global environmental conservation.
