On September 26, Tokyo Electron Shanghai (TES), together with other social charity organizations, attended the donation ceremony for the Heart and Liver Baby Plan, a pediatric liver transplant project organized by Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC).
TES has contributed 20,000 yuan to this project, supporting children in urgent need of treatment.
SMIC launched this project in 2013 in partnership with the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Shanghai Renji Hospital. TES has been supporting the project since 2017, and together with its client SMIC, has seen the process of its growth to become a large-scale charity project. Rather than being just a business partner, SMIC is a partner in charity activities, and is collaborating with TES in the promotion of social health and welfare.
This year, SMIC and other companies participating in the project collectively raised 5,652 thousand yuan. To date, total donations have approached 50 million yuan, enabling 943 children from low-income families to receive liver transplant surgeries.
TES will continue to support the project and contribute to the development of public welfare projects together with more partners who share sense of social responsibility.
