NEWLearning About Food and Agriculture Through Rice Planting (Joint Activities Between Tokyo Electron Taiwan and Children's Home)

In line with the principle of corporate social responsibility (CSR), Tokyo Electron Taiwan conducts a range of social contribution activities every year.

On April 24, employees and their families joined children from the Taoyuan City LOHAS Children’s Home in a rice planting event at Taoyuan Farm. Hand-in-hand with the children, we entered the rice fields and got close to nature while helping with the farming work. We learned about rice farming without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides, and experienced the hard work that these farmers endure every day. Through this event, we also learned the importance of food and agriculture education and eco-friendly farming practices. The rice will be donated to the children’s home when harvested.

Tokyo Electron Taiwan has also taken on management of about 0.4 hectares of farmland to support local small farmers.
