Tokyo Electron Kyushu (TKL) has entered into naming rights partnership agreements with Nagasaki University and Kyushu University.

At Nagasaki University, a practice room in the School of Information and Data Sciences was renovated and named the Tokyo Electron Digital Nest in the hopes that it will become a place of comfort and reprieve for students. Incidentally, “nest” is also a term in structured programming.

Floors, walls, and fixtures were all redone in the renovation, creating a bright environment that is conducive to studying. An information panel about Tokyo Electron (TEL) is also on display at the back of the room, making the room not only a space for study but also a place where students can see how their education in the School of Information and Data Sciences can be applied at TEL.

By raising awareness of TEL and generating interest among students, it is TEL’s goal to address the nationwide challenge of attracting and hiring software engineers.

At Kyushu University’s Ito Campus, the doors of a large lecture hall located within the Faculty of Engineering’s Open Learning Plaza were redesigned with a TEL motif, and the room was renamed the Tokyo Electron Nexus Hall to symbolize the “nexus” of connections and bonds TEL hopes will form among the students there.

The lecture hall, already in use on the day of the ceremony, immediately grabbed the attention of students.

TKL will continue to be committed to supporting the development of the next generation of engineers.
