As part of its efforts to contribute to society, Tokyo Electron Miyagi (TML) takes part in the Miyagi Green Coast Project. As another effort, TML held its first tree planting party at Arahama, Wakabayashi District, Sendai City, entitled First Tree Planting Party at Tokyo Electron Forest at Arahama.
105 people including employees and their families attended the opening ceremony and sign unveiling ceremony before the tree planting party.

During the party, 150 nematode-resistant black pines were planted to 0.10 hectares of the 0.40 hectares at Minamikanrin District (Arahama, Wakabayashi ward), and weeds were removed for 0.10 hectares for the next scheduled transplanting.
The black pines around 30cm in height that were lovingly transplanted by all the participants will be cared for over the years so that they eventually become a disaster prevention forest measuring over 10m.

TML will continue its activities to protect people's safety with the aim of planting and nurturing.

What is the Green Coast Project?
The Green Coast Project is activities to restore the beautiful coastal disaster prevention forests along the coast of Miyagi, protect the area, and nurture the forests loved by the community. This restoration project began after disaster prevention forests were lost during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and realizing that they would be essential for protecting the local community in the future. Over a period of 20 to 30 years, the Project will create coastal disaster prevention forests, i.e. a green coast, along the seashore and city boundaries.
