The domestic manufacturing sites of Tokyo Electron (TEL) offer work experience programs every year to help develop human resources and contribute to local communities.
At the Tokyo Electron Technology Solutions (TTS) Tohoku Office, four junior high students from Oshu City were welcomed as trial interns for the junior high school work experience learning program over three days from September 10 to 12.
Students toured the factory, received etiquette training, tried on clean suits, made things using testers and other measurement kits , operated equipment, received lectures on environmental initiatives and safety education/environmental safety, and experienced many other manufacturing jobs from diverse perspectives.
After the experience, one student said "I learned that semiconductor manufacturing equipment is made through a number of processes, and I experienced how a large number of workers communicate with each other and work together" and another said "I got to see the plentiful welfare facilities and work environments where safety was taken into consideration, which made me believe that the company truly cares about its employees." As a local company, the TTS Tohoku Office is happy it was able to make these students feel closer to the company.
The TTS Tohoku Office will continue the work experience learning program to support and develop young people.
