  • Co-creation with communities

Tokyo Electron (TEL) generally conducts a pastry sale every month at the Fuchu office cafeteria as part of its commitment to supporting employment for people with disabilities. The pastries, which include cookies and pound cakes, are produced at Tokyo Covenant Church Nozomien.

Established in 1997, Nozomien is a welfare workshop (Type B Continuous Employment Support) located in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, dedicated to individuals with intellectual and psychological disabilities.

The pastries, meticulously prepared by the facility’s users and staff, are made using recipes and techniques taught by a skilled pastry chef with experience at renowned confectionery shops in Tokyo. On sale days, many TEL employees, who are regular customers, gather to purchase these delicious treats.

This sales event serves as an opportunity for social interaction and supports independent living for the facility’s users by actively involving them and the facility’s staff in the selling process.
