As a sponsor, Tokyo Electron supports the project week of United World Colleges ISAK Japan (UWC ISAK), a Japanese member school of the global educational institution, United World Colleges (UWC).
UWC ISAK opened its doors in 2014 as the first international boarding high school in Japan. Its beautiful campus is located partway up Mt. Asama in Karuizawa, where approximately 200 students from roughly 80 countries around the world study, aiming to become future global change makers.
While emphasizing the diversity of students from a variety of backgrounds, the school provides experiential learning in addition to classroom learning with the objective of developing change makers who will make a positive change in society. The school’s biannual project week helps it achieve this goal, as students focus on an extracurricular activity for a full week, and each student actively challenges themselves through their projects while aspiring to create new value.
