The Tokyo Electron Europe (TEE) Grenoble Office is sponsoring a local honey farm, “Bee Abeille, des ruches pour votre entreprise.”
As sponsor benefits, TEE employees and their children are able to visit the farm regularly to participate in hands-on events such as bee-hive cleaning, honey extraction, and tours of the honey production process.
These events not only allow visitors to understand how honeybees make honey, but they also serve as opportunities to think about biodiversity, such as the importance of the role of honeybees to the environment.
A guided tour by a beekeeper held in July proved to be an invaluable experience for participants. The frames of a hive were removed to offer visitors the rare opportunity of directly observing a queen bee.
