Announcement on changes in CEO, corporate organization, and important personnel
At the Board of Directors meeting held on March 25, 2010, Tokyo Electron Ltd. made the decisions announced below regarding changes in the CEO, corporate organization, and important personnel.

Reason for appointment
One year has passed since April 2009, when Hiroshi Takenaka became president and initiated a new executive structure based on a fusion of the existing management team with a new management team for the next generation. As a result, we are beginning to see firm prospects for a recovery in our business performance. With a view to laying further foundations for the future growth of the Tokyo Electron Group, the new management team will now, under the guidance of new CEO Hiroshi Takenaka, be playing the central role in management operations under the new executive system.

3. Changes in the Organization effective on April 1st, 2010
1.The SPE Division and Corporate Business Strategy Division will be abolished and the following departments will come under the direct control of president: CTBU, SPSBU, ESBU, TPSBU,SDBU, FSBU, Marketing, Test Systems Project, 3DI Project, MEMS Project, and Epion Project.
2.The following departments of the SPE DivisionJapan Sales, Korea Sales, Taiwan Sales, Asia & China Sales, and North America & Europe Saleswill become part of the newly established SPE Sales Division (General Manager: SVP Chiaki Yamaguchi).
3.The Corporate Production Planning Dept., part of the Manufacturing Division, will remain in the same division but merge with the Procurement Planning & System Dept. under the new title Corporate Procurement & Production Planning Dept., to be controlled by Corporate Procurement.
