Revision of Our Company's Environmental Long-Term Goals

Tokyo Electron (TEL; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshiki Kawai) announced a revision to its environmental long-term goals aiming to further reinforce the company’s environmental initiatives through its commitment to decarbonization.

As information and communications technology (ICT) makes great strides in modern society, the importance of semiconductor devices and flat panel displays (FPDs) is growing steadily. While supporting the advancement of ICT through our production of semiconductor and FPD manufacturing equipment, we are committed to achieving our new environmental long-term goals of reducing our greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050, in addition to fulfilling our medium-term environmental goals by 2030. These actions keep with our corporate philosophy, “We strive to contribute to the development of a dream-inspiring society through our leading-edge technologies and reliable services and support.”

We will realize net zero* by proactively promoting the reduction of environmental burden of both our facilities and products. We strive to contribute to the development of a dream-inspiring society by providing evolutionary manufacturing technologies that effectively reduces the power consumption of electronic products.

*Reducing greenhouse gas emissions that are owned or controlled by a company (Scope 1 & 2) to net zero by 2040.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions from corporate value chain (Scope 3) to net zero by 2050.
