In December 2024, Tokyo Electron Taiwan opened the Tainan Operation Center in the Tainan Science Park and held a grand ceremony to celebrate its completion. The completion ceremony was attended by Toshiki Kawai, Tokyo Electron President and CEO, as well as Tokyo Electron Taiwan's top management, Taiwanese government officials, construction company officials, and many other stakeholders, who gave congratulatory speeches.

Tokyo Electron Taiwan started operations in Taiwan in 1996 as a subsidiary of Tokyo Electron (TEL), and has established bases in Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, and more. It has contributed to the development of Taiwan's semiconductor industry since the foundation.

The Tainan Operation Center is a six-story building with a usable floor area of approximately 35,000 m2 and a capacity of 1,000 people. A key strength is that in this center, there are engineers who work for all the four key consecutive processes that TEL has strengths: film deposition, lithography, etching, and cleaning. In collaboration with TEL's cutting-edge technology in Japan, it also has a "Testing Tech Lab" facility for semiconductor testing, software development, experiments, and a repair center. In addition, based on the TEL Group's policy of prioritizing “Safety-First” operations, the center also focuses on safety education and training to further promote and ensure safety in the work environment.

The facility has received “Gold-level” recognition, the top-level, smart and green building qualification. The center has a courtyard and 400 m2 of solar farm, creating a bright, open, and energy-saving working environment. It reflects the "Digital & Green" concept, which emphasizes the compatibility between the development of a digital society and the protection of the global environment to embody the TEL Group's corporate attitude.

"Taiwan is an important player in the global semiconductor industry and is driving the development of AI semiconductors. We will continue to provide high-quality services that meet our customers' needs and aim to be their strongest partner, supporting from research and development to mass production,” said Roger Chang, President of Tokyo Electron Taiwan. “In addition to promoting local employment opportunities, we also would like to motivate the engineers who work here every day and make this an Operation Center that leads in the creation of future innovation."
