The All Japan Industrial Teams Women's Ekiden—more familiarly known as the Queen’s Ekiden—is the premier women’s ekiden race in Japan. It is contested by teams that qualified from the Princess Ekiden, which acts as a nationwide preliminary race. Tokyo Electron (TEL) has sponsored the event since 2010, when the 30th edition of the race was held.
The race takes place in Miyagi Prefecture.
The course starts in Matsushima, which is regarded as one of the three great views of Japan, passes through various tourist destinations and urban areas, and finishes in the center of Sendai City. The race is full of drama and provides riveting viewing every year.
Through its sponsorship of the Queen’s Ekiden, TEL seeks to support the teams of athletes pushing their bodies to the limit for each other, and to promote the revitalization both of Miyagi Prefecture, where the race takes place, and Japan as a whole.
