Announcement of New Building Construction in Miyagi

Tokyo Electron (TEL) announced today its decision to construct the Miyagi Technology Innovation Center within its factory premises in Miyagi, Japan.

The first floor of the building will house a lab area for creative collaboration with partner firms, as well as a training center for customers. Additionally, open innovation areas will be provided on the first and second floors.

Driven by a continuous flow of technological innovations, the market for etch systems developed and manufactured by TEL in Miyagi is expected to grow substantially in upcoming years. With the construction of the Miyagi Technology Innovation Center, TEL aims to attain breakthrough technologies and higher productivity that are critical to the company’s growth.

Construction is scheduled to start in June 2020, with completion in June 2021.
