Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) Delivers 22,000th Prober

Austin, Texas, July, 16, 2007 --- Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) today announced that the company has shipped its 22,000th automatic wafer probing system to the semiconductor market.

This is one of many achievements in TEL Test Systems’ history of milestones in the wafer probing market. Their continuous innovation spans more than 30 years and has led to such successes as the P-8 series of 200mm probers and the P-12 series of 300mm probers, the industry’s first 300mm automatic wafer prober.

Following in the tradition of technology leadership, TEL has recently introduced Precio™, their latest generation of 300mm wafer probers designed to lower test cell cost-of-ownership while providing maximum flexibility for the dynamic requirements of wafer testing.

Precio features two industry first technologies: Auto Leveling and TELPADS-I. Auto Leveling allows customers to automatically and accurately adjust the planarity between probe cards and the prober chuck. TELPADS-I is a high speed probe mark inspection capability that allows users to achieve a more than 60% improvement in PMI execution while collecting quantitative data for judgment and review.

Precio’s new features combined with its significant wafer exchange and throughput improvements provide customers with the technology and CoO reductions to compete in the demanding semiconductor industry.

“ We are extremely proud of our heritage and the contributions we’ve been able to make to semiconductor wafer probing. We look forward to continuing to provide our customers with innovative solutions to meet their testing challenges in the future,” said Steve Nagasawa, VP and GM of TEL’s Test Systems Business Unit.
