Tokyo Electron Limited Receives Intel's Prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement Award

TOKYO, Japan, March 27, 2007 Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) was named a recipient of Intel Corporations prestigious 2006 Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award.

The award is Intels highest honor for its suppliers, recognizing them for outstanding

commitment to quality and performance for providing products and services deemed essential to Intels success. The company was recognized for its efforts supplying Intel with semiconductor production equipment - coater/developer, etch systems, surface preparation cleaning systems, thermal processing systems and wafer probers. TEL and nine other SCQI award winners will be honored at a celebration in Burlingame, California on March 27.

It is a great honor for Tokyo Electron Limited to receive the coveted Intel 2006 SCQI

award. My sincere appreciation also goes out to all of our employees who worked safely and diligently to win this prestigious award for the seventh consecutive year. There were unique challenges that faced us in each of the previous years, and 2006 was no different. However, with the perseverance of everyone involved, we were able to meet and exceed those challenges to bring value to Intel and all of our customers. On behalf of TEL employees worldwide, I want to extend our thanks to Intel for honoring us again with this celebrated award, said Ken Sato, president and COO, TEL.

This achievement is a result of TELs results in delivering world class safety performance, integrating new technologies, and exceeding our expectations, said Janice Golda,

director, Lithography Capital Equipment Development, Intel Corporation. We appreciate TELs commitment supporting us across multiple Intel technologies and we look forward to working with TEL in 2007 as we raise our mutual expectations for success.

The SCQI awards are part of Intels Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement process,

which encourages Intels key suppliers to strive for excellence and continuous improvement. To

qualify for SCQI status, suppliers must score at least 95 percent on a report card that assesses performance and ability to meet cost, quality, availability, delivery, technology and responsiveness goals. Intel will also recognize SCQI award winners on March 27, 2007 with an advertisement

in the U.S., Europe, and Asian editions of The Wall Street Journal.
