TEL to Begin Offering ADIC Pathlight VX Virtual Tape Library

Tokyo Electron Limited announced today that it has decided to begin offering Pathlight VX virtual tape library product from Advanced Digital Information Corp. (ADIC; Head Office: Redmond, California, U.S.A.; Chairman & CEO: Peter H. van Oppen). This product is the industry's cutting-edge integrated disk-to-tape backup solution, having the combination of both advantages of disk and tape systems.

As businesses and organizations deal with greater amount of information, there is increasing interest in the concept of very fast bakcup and restore of the valuable and huge amount of data with simple management. TEL examined products to meet such business needs and made the decision to add the product to its solutions lineup, which has led the SAN industry up to now, after taking into account the proven performance and technical ability of ADIC, the world's largest supplier of automated tape systems, and ADIC's leading-edge "Pathlight VX" that combines the advantages of disk and tape drives.
