Capitol BEST Robotics Competition

Capitol BEST is a non-profit organization within the Travis and surrounding counties and operates as a yearly engineering contest for local high school students. Austin high-tech companies like TEL and other businesses in the Austin area help provide financial support for the Capitol Best (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) Competition. This six-week engineering design contest involves up to 24 Austin area high school teams. This past fall, TEL has helped sponsor the overall contest, as well as, the supplies needed for Del Valle High School's robotics team. For the competition, students design and build a remote-controlled robotic machine. The constraints simulate real world engineering issues such as limited resources, time-to-market, and design-to-function variables.

Capitol BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) Robotics hosts its annual robotics competition for Central Texas students on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Leander High School. Winners of the local competition will then move on to the regional competition (Texas BEST) held yearly at Texas A&M University on Nov 20-22.
