Tokyo Electron Limited (TEL) has become an official sponsor of Ventforet Kofu (VF Kofu), a soccer club in Yamanashi Prefecture that achieved Division 1 status for the junior league in 2006.

TEL's relationship with Yamanashi Prefecture date back more than 20 years, when the company established a business site in Nirasaki City in 1983. Today, TEL has two manufacturing plants in the city, including a total number of employees exceeding 2,000.

Under the concept of a community-based hometown team, VF Kofu attracts many local players and enjoys the enthusiastic support of local residents. Last year, the team won several dramatic victories in the new arena of J1. Their brave performance instilled courage and excitement in many soccer fans not only in Yamanashi Prefecture, but also in other areas.
