Tokyo Electron formed an alliance with Keep Austin Beautiful in spring 2001, supporting three different environmental initiatives in Austin, Texas. One of the more visible symbols of this partnership is the sign along Grove Blvd. near TEA headquarters that recognizes TEL's adoption of Grove Blvd. as part of a KAB trash removal program. TEL and KAB formed the partnership on the basis that both groups work toward similar goals of environmentally friendly practices.

A section of the TEL philosophy on the environment says, "The TEL Group places the highest consideration on the global environment, as well as the safety and health of its employees, customers and every person connected, directly or indirectly, with our business activities..."Established as a non-profit organization in 1985, Keep Austin Beautiful (KAB), is also dedicated to preserving the environment and therefore provides Austin-area residents with tools they need to clean and beautify their community through a number of volunteer and educational outreach programs.
