TEL became the first hi-tech company in Austin to purchase 100 percent of its electricity from renewable energy. During fall 2001,TEA headquarters in Austin, Texas, agreed to purchase 6,555,300 kilowatt-hours annually of electricity - or about the same amount of power used by 550 homes - from wind power, solar energy and methane gas from landfills for the next 10 years.
