Rookie of the Year Winner

Capital Area Training Foundation

The Capital Area Training Foundation recognized TEA as the winner of the 2001 Greater Austin at Work "Rookie of the Year" award. TEA received the honor for consistent and significant contributions to local education and workforce development initiatives. Susan Dawson of the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce presented the award to TEA's Mindy Russell at a reception of approximately 500 people at the Austin Hyatt on September 18, 2001. TEA received the honor for initiating a summer intern program for educators and for numerous community service projects.

"This award recognizes TEA's involvement and commitment to efforts that enhance student awareness and achievement and support the future workforce needs of an effectively engaged community partner," commented Rip Rowan, Manager of Education and Workforce Development for the Capitol Area Training Foundation.

Tokyo Electron was also nominated in the 2001-2002 school year for the Chairman's Salute award in association with the company's Adopt-a-School program and in 2002-2003 for Excellent Partnership and Above-and-Beyond awards given by Del Valle Independent School District.
