TEL in the Community

Employee Involvement

TEL employees work together each year to support communities in which they live. We organize dozens of group volunteer activities every year, providing hundreds of our employees the chance to participate in local community events. We promote a culture of charitable giving and volunteerism to connect to nonprofit organizations serving the communities in which we live. Our employee volunteer program is an important facet of our overall corporate citizenship program. We look for volunteer opportunities that provide individual employees the chance to make a positive and long-term impact in their communities.

The employees shown in the photo (below) participated in the clean-up of Grove Blvd., in the award-winning Adopt A Street program, recognized by Keep Austin Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful.

Annual Holiday Events

Each year, TEL employees celebrate the spirit of the season by dedicating their money and time to charitable organizations. They have participated in regional toy, food and clothes drives including Capital Area Food Bank and the Rainbow Room. These charitable drives produced hundreds of gifts for children and families in need.

Annual Holiday Events

TEA's 2003 Holiday Gift drive brought in more than 150 gifts, bringing holiday cheer to Austin-area children under care of Child Protective Services.

Community Fundraisers

TEL employees and their families regularly participate in local charity walks, runs and other fundraisers. TEL's Central Texas employees have participated in the Diabetes Walk, SafePlace's Walk for Safe Families, Aids Walk, Lady Bird Johnson Center's Wildflower Walk, Motorola Marathon, the Austin American Statesman's Capitol 10k. TEL also supports the arts outreach programs at the Austin Lyric Opera, the Austin Museum of Art and the Bass Concert Hall at the University of Texas at Austin.

Other volunteer efforts include Big Brothers and Sisters, Meals on Wheels, and support of the Adopt-A-Street, trash removal program administered by Keep Austin Beautiful.

How to get TEL US employees involved as volunteers

Thank you for your interest in providing a volunteer opportunity for TEL employees. We believe that our future success is contingent upon responsibility to the communities in which we live and work.
